This summer, Spire will be carrying out a pilot project in Nepal. Do you want to participate? Please send us your application! Union for Nature Conservation (UNC) is a new potential partner organization for Spire which shares much of our focus on environmental issues. This summer two Spire members will travel to Nepal to discuss the possibility for the two organizations to make partners, and how UNC and Spire can work together towards common goals. This is an exciting opportunity which is open for both old and new members of Spire.
The participants will in collaboration with Spires’s international committee and UNC, develope the work schedule for the stay during the spring. The participants are expected to spend about three hours per week to carry out necessary research, communicate with the main participants from UNC and prepare a presentation about Spire. In Nepal, representatives from UNC and Spire will organize meetings where important issues are discussed (common political goals, possible strategies, etc). If the two organizations find collaboration interesting they will start the outline of a common project for 2015. In addition the participants will take part in a workshop involving several other Nepalese youth organizations. Here you will learn about youth work in Nepal, present Spire and how we work to influence politics in Norway, and not least get to know activists and engaged youths from Nepal. Back in Norway, the two participants from Spire will present a written report sharing their experiences and recommendations for further collaboration with UNC. If they are positive towards collaborating they will also present the project outline. The board in Spire will make the final decision based on the information represented. The two participants we are looking for are:
